Working desk setup
Back before I started attending Teacher Jean's classes, I couldn't understand how to develop my ideas properly for writer's effect or extended response/directed writing(for paper 2). But now, I understand how to think outside of the box and phrase sentences to not sound so bland.

About Teacher Jean

Growing up, English was not my strength. I spoke Teochew and Cantonese at home and attended a Chinese primary school, followed by a secondary school where Malay was the primary medium. Storybooks weren’t part of my childhood, and my only exposure to English came through my musical journey, as I trained in piano and achieved ATCL, LTCL and LRSM certifications.

But life has a way of teaching lessons, often in unexpected ways. Two moments stand out. The first was when my best friend scoffed at my pronunciation of words like "decades" and "photographer." Each time, I bit my lip, memorising the corrections she declared so confidently. The second was a maths tutor who dismissed my English despite my grammatical accuracy, replacing it with her "perfect" phrasing. The sting of humiliation only fuelled my determination.

These experiences sparked a personal mission: to master English and prove — to myself and the world — that I could excel.
